Bedrooms and bathrooms
Spread across several blocks of varying character and age, Dalton Ellis includes the iconic Grade II-listed Main Hall, a landmark as England's first purpose-built hall of residence, which opened its doors in 1882. Over the years, the hall has grown with the addition of the Nield Wing and further expansions such as Fiddes, Graham, Ewings, and Sutherland.
The hall houses a total of 250 students in large corridor-style accommodation.
The majority of rooms come with a wash basin and single (190x90cm) or small double bed (190x120cm). Rooms are designed for practicality, with a dedicated study area and plenty of storage for your belongings.
While the majority of rooms share bathroom and toilet facilities-typically shared between five students-there's a small selection of en-suite rooms available in one block.
Some rooms, including the Grahams and Ewings blocks, were refurbished in 2023.
