Katie Jackson

Katie is currently the Faculty of Humanities’ Executive Officer, as well as a Director and Member of the Trustee Board of The University of Manchester Students' Union.

As part of her role, Katie works on amplifying student voices, with a particular focus on the academic experience of students within the Faculty of Humanities. For the academic year 23/24, this attention was on improving assessment, feedback and the inclusivity of education. At the core of her work lies leadership and change-making for student interests.

Prior to that, Katie was studying her undergraduate in Sociology at The University of Manchester, where she has been active in the student representation sphere. Katie is still due to complete her degree, going into her final year in September 2025.

In her previous year (23/24) as an officer, Katie has been involved in a multitude of skill-building environments, along with her work during the pandemic teaching English online to speakers of foreign languages, and her leadership experience in the hospitality and retail industries.
