Continuing professional development courses for organisations and employers
Professional development courses bring benefits to the smallest of start-ups and the largest of multinationals. No organisation can succeed without a knowledgeable and highly skilled workforce.
To ensure your staff are effective and motivated, we offer continuing professional development (CPD) courses for organisations of all types and sizes, from SMEs to charities and global corporates.
CPD courses to meet your organisation’s needs
- Courses can either be non-assessed or credit-bearing as required.
- We offer flexible entry and exit on our postgraduate certificate, diploma and master's degrees.
- Accredited study can give exemption from some professional examinations.
Investing in CPD means your company is ensuring its standards remain high across your workforce and your sector knowledge is up-to-date.
We work closely with professional bodies, including IChemE, AMBA and EQUIS, IEE, Royal Pharmaceutical Society, IMechE, RIBA, College of Optometrists and CCAB to align our courses with industry expectation.
You also benefit from maximising your staff potential and sharing best practice across your organisation.
Modes of study
We offer a range of flexible modes of study that can be tailored to your organisation’s specific requirements. These include:
Master’s training programmes
Our MSc courses are organised in a modular format, with periods of study at the University and in the workplace, making it easier for your employees to balance their work and personal life.
Bespoke MSc programmes or short courses
We can design bespoke MSc courses or short courses for your organisation, and deliver them either by distance learning or on campus. We can also develop additional project-based work for maximum relevance.
Research training opportunities
These opportunities are especially suitable for companies wishing to offer development opportunities to senior staff.
Our research training opportunities include Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy programmes, as well as the Engineering Doctorate (EngD) degree, which is a professional doctorate combining industry-based research, management courses and professional development activities. The EngD is an accredited Monitored Professional Development Scheme for IMechE and IEE.
Flexible study formats
Different formats of study are available, ranging from two-day courses to modular masters programmes lasting three to five years.
Examples of modular formats include one- or two-week blocks of lectures, tutorials or laboratory work, with further study off campus.
