Founded in 1961 by a generous gift from Granada Television, the School of Drama has developed an international reputation for the quality of its research.
Our disciplinary approach combines an emphasis on historical and theoretical perspectives with practical exploration and understanding.
We have some of the country's leading researchers and practitioners of drama who publish widely and who promote a lively and innovative research culture.
Our superb new premises, provided by the University at a cost of more than £6 million, include:
