Travel by bicycle
Cycling is a very popular, cheap and environmentally friendly way to travel to The University of Manchester.
You'll find parking for over 2,500 cycles across the campuses and halls of residence, with large numbers of Sheffield/hoop stands close to building entrances.
Maps and general advice
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) provide a vast amount of information on cycling which can be found on the TfGM cycling website.
They also provide free PDF maps for the city and an excellent online interactive map to help you plan your journey.
Staff and student cycling
A strong cycling culture exists at the University, through the Students' Union 'Biko Bike' campaign and The University of Manchester staff and postgraduate Bicycle Users' Group (UMBUG) which has over 1,200 members.
